Green Bay Packers Reveal Jaire Alexander’s Status vs. Bears
Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

Last week, the Green Bay Packers made a shocking decision to suspend star cornerback Jaire Alexander for their must-win matchup on Sunday Night Football against the Minnesota Vikings. The suspension was due to multiple factors, but a big one had to do with him forcing himself on the field without being a captain for the coin toss against the Carolina Panthers.

It was a bold move to make in that big of a game, but the Packers were able to blow out the Vikings. Joe Barry and the Green Bay defense stood up and shut down the Minnesota offense.

Fans have been wondering about Alexander’s status for Green Bay’s Week 18 win-and-in matchup against the Chicago Bears. Finally, we have clarity on the situation.

According to head coach Matt LaFleur, Alexander is good to go for this week’s showdown with the Bears. He stated that he had a good conversation with Alexander and that all is back to normal.

Now that Alexander is confirmed to be ready to play this week, the Packers need him to revert back to his superstar form.

All season long, Alexander has been dealing with nagging injury issues. They have plagued him and held him down from producing at the level that Green Bay has come to know and love.

So far this season in six games for the Packers, Alexander has recorded 25 total tackles to go along with one forced fumble and four defended passes. Having him on the field will be a help, but a big game would be even better. Holding Justin Fields down will be tough, but Alexander gives the Green Bay defense a better chance.

Make sure to tune in on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. EST on FOX to see if the Packers can get into the playoffs with a big win at Lambeau Field over the Bears.
