Steelers continue reunion tour for new OC

Arthur Smith was fired by the Atlanta Falcons in January and hired as the Pittsburgh Steelers' new offensive coordinator later that month.

Since he joined the organization, the Steelers have reunited Smith with four former members of the Falcons, with the most recent coming on Wednesday in wideout Scotty Miller.

Smith served as the offensive coordinator of the Tennessee Titans in 2019 and 2020 before leading Atlanta for the last three seasons.

Aside from the additions of Miller, Cordarrelle Patterson, Van Jefferson and MyCole Pruitt, Pittsburgh has had a busy offseason.

The Steelers traded No. 1 wide receiver and one-time Pro Bowler Diontae Johnson to the Carolina Panthers and revamped their quarterback room by saying goodbye to Kenny Pickett while bringing in signal-callers Russell Wilson and Justin Fields. They also selected wideout Roman Wilson in the third round of the NFL Draft.

Like Jefferson, Patterson and Russell Wilson, Miller brings Super Bowl experience to Pittsburgh.

The team's new starting quarterback appeared in back-to-back title games with the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLVIII (a win against the Denver Broncos) in 2014 and Super Bowl XLIX (a loss vs. the New England Patriots) in 2015.

Patterson played in the Patriots' Super Bowl LIII victory over the Los Angeles Rams in 2019, Miller won a ring with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV over the Kansas City Chiefs in 2021 and Jefferson won it all with the Rams during Super Bowl LVI against the Cincinnati Bengals in 2022.

Miller will likely be a depth piece behind Jefferson, Roman Wilson and fellow starter George Pickens. Miller played in all 17 games with the Falcons last season, recording just 11 catches for 161 yards and two touchdowns on 16 targets.
