FC Barcelona will seek a new manager this summer as Xavi Hernandez intends to leave after this 2023-24 season. The Spanish side likely has a list of targets, and one of them is Luis Enrique.

The Catalan side will need a manager who allows them to stay on par with Real Madrid, as their rival is likely adding Kylian Mbappé. Los Blancos could also bring in Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich to improve their squad even more.

If Barcelona cannot make any significant moves this summer, they need a manager who can get the most out of their squad. This explains why Enrique is the name they want. However, there’s a challenge.

Mundo Deportivo’s Fernando Polo reports that Enrique is Barcelona’s priority, but it will be complicated because he has a contract with PSG. The option after him is Hansi Flick because Joan Laporta prefers him over any other German coach, and his agent is a good friend of the president.

Should the PSG tactician eliminate the Spanish giants in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal tie, the calls for his name to return and be their manager again will be ringing around Barcelona. For PSG’s sake, they have to hope he’s committed long-term to their project.
