The center-back position is poised to take precedence on Paris Saint-Germain’s agenda as they strive to bolster the team for the upcoming 2024-25 season.

Among the potential acquisitions catching the attention of the Parisians is LOSC Lille’s Leny Yoro, yet PSG would be prudent to explore additional alternative targets.

PSG does face a challenge from Real Madrid, so the capital club could lose out on Yoro and need to shift to other options. One of the alternative targets in the rumor mill is SL Benfica player Antonio Silva.

The 20-year-old reportedly has a release clause of €100 million and clubs like Manchester United are keen on the defender. With the Red Devils and PSG circling the center-back, the Portuguese side might want a sum close to that release clause figure.

If the Ligue 1 side does strike out on Yoro, CBS Sports reporter Jonathan Johnson believes that Silva is the ideal target among the several center-backs that the Parisians are linked to.

“If we’re planning for the summer with Luis Campos in charge of transfer dealings, Antonio Silva probably makes the most sense to me out of all of those,” Johnson told PSG Talk in an exclusive interview.

“I think Antonio Silva, Benfica, is already at the level where we’re expecting him to make a jump at some point in the next year or so. He’s already been linked in the past, like I said before. So for me, I think Antonio Silva would probably be the pick of the bunch there.”
